Xin Chao!
I’m Moca, Ho Chi Minh City correspondent for Star Kitchen (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
I’ve lived in Ho Chi Minh City for over 10 years♡
Last year alone, I explored at least 700 shops! On average, I go out 2 to 3 times a day (*゚▽゚)ノ I’m probably the most active Japanese person in Ho Chi Minh City (╹▽╹)
This time, I want to introduce a highly recommended shop where the prices are one-third to one-half of those at Saigon Square, and you don’t need to haggle! This is super convenient for those not skilled in bargaining.
Let's dive in☆ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
Located in District 4, this shop is not a typical tourist spot. However, it’s practically part of District 1, so it’s not far. A taxi from Ben Thanh Market in the city center takes about 15 minutes.
The shop is conveniently situated on the main route between Districts 1 and 7. So, if you live in District 7 and are heading to District 1, it’s a great place to stop by.
[Ho Chi Minh City] THANH HOA: Must-Visit Shop!
Shop THANH HOA
You can't miss this souvenir shop’s distinct exterior (*゚▽゚)ノ
There are also souvenirs outside, featuring items with a Vietnamese or Southeast Asian flair!
Inside, you'll find popular items like bamboo basket bags, embroidered drawstring bags, and Vietnamese ceramic tea sets, all classic Vietnamese handicrafts.
So adorable (゚∀三゚三∀゚)
Vietnamese ceramic tea sets are about 500,000 VND.
In tourist areas, these can cost between 700,000 and 1,200,000 VND, so this is much cheaper ٩꒰。•◡•。꒱۶’
The wall of bamboo basket bags is just too cute♡♡
Highly recommended are the embroidered small bags, with the small size priced at only 20,000 VND (・ω・). This is one-third to one-half cheaper than Saigon Square or Ben Thanh Market ✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧
Buy some Vietnamese tea or Star Kitchen cookies or shrimp crackers from the supermarket and put them in these little drawstring bags. It’s super cute and classy!
Such a gift would surely make anyone happy♡(。◕ ∀ ◕。)
Large drawstring bags are about 60,000 VND.
They make cute and practical liners for bamboo basket bags♡(。◕ ∀ ◕。)
The hard-shell rattan bags, which are less common elsewhere, are very durable and perfect for personal use ✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و♪
They also have plastic rattan bags...♡
These are priced around 120,000 VND to 150,000 VND.
While this may not be the absolute cheapest place, considering transportation and time, it’s still a great option for small purchases ♡♥*+
Plus, they have other common souvenirs (。◕ ∀ ◕。)♡
These colorful shell coasters are something I want for myself♡
From the photos, you can see there are many items here.
It’s like a treasure hunt; browsing for your favorite items is great fun!♡(´-_ゝ-`)
Even the ceiling is adorned with bamboo basket bags, so don’t miss them♡
This is a hidden gem of a souvenir shop. If you’re visiting Ho Chi Minh City, it’s a must-see♡
