【Ho Chi Minh City Trip】Explore the Local Night Market 【Star Kitchen】

【ホーチミン在住者必見】2区でおすすめの高級スーパー4選

Hi! I'm Moca, the local correspondent for Star Kitchen.

Last year, I hit up over 700 spots! I was out and about an average of 2 to 3 times a day (*゚▽゚)ノ

I must be one of the busiest Japanese folks living in Ho Chi Minh City, huh? (╹▽╹)

When you think of Southeast Asia, you probably think of lively night markets, and that's exactly what I'm talking about today!

Cho Dem Bac Ninh (Nguyen Ba Luat street) Night Market

This street starts bustling with vendors from the evening!

It's in District 9, not really a spot tourists or Japanese folks typically venture to! It's now called THU DUC ( ̄∀ ̄)

But if you hop on bus number 56, 52, or 53 from the bus stop near Ben Thanh Market, you can get there in under an hour for just 7,000 Vietnamese Dong. Or grab a Grab taxi for around 220,000 Vietnamese Dong one way. If you're not sure what to do in the evening, it's worth checking out ♡

The last bus is around 20:00, so be mindful when heading back!

It's on Bac Ninh Market Street (*゚▽゚)ノ

If you're taking a taxi or bus, it's a good idea to keep an eye on Google Maps!

Because this night market is more for locals than tourists!

And there are quite a few Vietnamese folks cruising around on their motorbikes, haha.

You can see many vendors lining the street near the entrance of the night market, giving it a real local vibe!

Aside from a few food stalls, this night market is mostly about clothes, shoes, makeup, and fashion٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧

Just watching all the action makes you happy! Feels like being abroad!

In Vietnam, you often see sandals similar to Crocs♪

And bags too ♡

You can't resist taking a second look when you see those straw bags, huh?٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧

Around 200,000 Vietnamese Dong

Among them, I think the socks are the cutest (*゚▽゚)ノ♡

A pair goes for about 20,000 Vietnamese Dong, super cheap (lol)!!

Children's clothes are also priced locally (╹▽╹)

They range from about 90,000 to 120,000 Vietnamese Dong.

Lots of T-shirts look very wearable, without any weird patterns you might expect (lol)

Around 150,000 Vietnamese Dong

There are also some quaint shops that have a bit of a retro vibe,

selling bubbles, hair accessories, stickers, and other small items, giving it a nostalgic feel♪

toys10,000~20,000

Since it's a night market, you can haggle a bit٧٨٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧

But since the prices aren't too high to begin with, even paying the asking price is a good deal☆

Weekend evenings are pretty crowded, so if you're planning to go, it's best to head there in the early evening ♡(。◕ ∀ ◕。)

This isn't a pedestrian-only area, and motorbikes pass through, so if you're with kids, be extra cautious✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧♡

Because this is a night market where only locals go, English won't get you far ♡(。◕ ∀ ◕。)

And of course, keep an eye out for pickpockets☆
